Grishko Ballet Shoes

Many dancers mistakenly believe that correctly fitting ballet shoes are not necessary until they reach Demi-Pointe or Pointe level. In fact it is imperative that all shoes need to be fitted correctly and fit the dancer’s foot as accurately as possible to avoid injury.

Because our feet are not designed to dance on pointe and because the bones in the toes are some of the smallest in the body correctly fitted shoes becomes even more important once a dancer reaches the grades where Demi-pointe and Pointe shoes are required.

Esther Juon Veitch is New Zealand’s premier ballet shoe fitting expert and over the last 25 years has designed a special system for getting the perfect shoe that takes into account the individual dancer and their needs. Her clients range from Royal New Zealand Ballet members to children just starting out and her methods are taught nationwide.
